Speak the Speech - Shakespeare for the Actor
About the workshop:
For experienced actors, acting students and those recently bitten by the acting bug – we’ll meet you where you are and give you the tools you need to take your craft to the next level!
Kentucky Shakespeare’s Director of Education and regular company member, Kyle Ware, will guide each actor through the process of interpreting Shakespeare’s text for performance. This includes understanding Shakespeare’s storytelling style, iambic pentameter, and how to make the heartbeat of the narrative work for you. We’ll also address acting standards like character, objective and stakes. Each participant will leave the session with a Shakespeare monologue ready for audition or performance.
Session Dates: February 21 & 28, March 7, 6-8pm
Intended for Participants Ages 18 and older.
